Pedagogical continuity

We’re well aware that the Covid-19 is here and all the health measures to deal with it are now part of our daily lives. Schools are closed until further notice, all layers of society are reorganizing themselves, specialy the field of education, which has been severely disrupted.

As a member of Edtech France and as part of the Solidarite.edtechfrance.fr initiative, Beecome is mobilised in order to support teaching establishments on their way to digitalize their teaching practices. (See Beecome Press Release)

So the Beecome team got off to an intense start during the first week of confinement.

New arrivals

As digital educational solutions have become vital during this period, Beecome has implemented its platform into a dozen new teaching establishments in the last week. For each school it’s a challenge to connect to its current system in record time.

In addition to the technical implementation, the human outreach is an essential component for a smooth transition. Another challenge is to train and get on board the administrative staff as well as the speakers in a very short time span. At Beecome, we favour face-to-face trainings and meetings users, but in order to comply with health and safety regulations, we quickly set up numerous webinars allowing a more direct approach with schools staff and administrators.

A new version to start off on the right foot

A first version of the Room was set up during the strikes of December 2019 and January 2020, and now is time for the 2.0 version to kick in.

 

A whole range of new possibilities:

  • External video sharing and management
  • Sub-rooms for smaller groups to work
  • A collaborative whiteboard to note, draw and create
  • Surveys
  • Management of presenter rights
  • And many more options!

 

Also, students are all over social media sharing their experiences 😉

Infrastructure for the win

With the increase in usage and the number of users, the infrastructure has been put to the test. Beecome’s technical teams have mobilized to continue to deliver a quality service. Few updates were made to the platform during the week and we can say that the challenge has been met!
